Local Movers Who Know Phoenix and the Whole Valley

Low Cost Quality Movers is a bonded and insured local mover working out of Phoenix off 24th Street, and we keep every job in-house: our trucks, our W-2 crew, no exceptions. We move houses and apartments through Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Glendale, Tempe, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Peoria, Surprise, Avondale, Goodyear, and Queen Creek. Hector Ramirez grew up in Mesa and started loading trucks across the Valley right out of high school, then spent years on crews for the big national van lines, watching customers get nickel-and-dimed, before he opened his own affordable shop in 2014. That is why our movers already know how a Mesa two-story stucco staircase pitches, which Chandler HOAs run a gate check-in, and how to load a downtown turnover before the afternoon heat peaks. Hector runs the crew bilingual, so every customer gets a clear, honest answer.

What Hiring Local and Affordable Actually Buys You

When you work the same Valley every week, you read it differently than a long-haul outfit grinding down I-10 ever could. We know a single-story Phoenix ranch can still hide a tight hallway and a narrow side gate, that a Mesa two-story means standing the long sofa on end to clear the entry, and that a downtown tower wants proof of insurance and a booked freight elevator nailed down days ahead. So we time loads for the cool early morning, sort the gate check-in or COI before the truck arrives, and walk the carry before a dolly hits the path. Come July, that legwork is what keeps the day tidy when a haboob is in the forecast and the asphalt is already past 110.

What a Local Move Runs

Home Size Crew Size Estimated Hours Typical Range
Studio / 1-BR 2 movers 2–3 hours $300 – $880
2-BR Apartment 2–3 movers 3–5 hours $900 – $1,520
3-BR House 3 movers 5–7 hours $1,500 – $2,560
4-BR House 3–4 movers 6–9 hours $2,500 – $4,100
5+ BR / Large Home 4–5 movers 8–12 hours $4,100 and up

Moving You Through Summer Heat, Monsoon, and Snowbird Season

The desert hands you real extremes, and a half-planned move pays for all of them. Our crews have carried households through July afternoons past 110, dust storms that swallow a street in minutes, and the flash floods that follow a hard monsoon rain, and the truck rolls stocked for every bit of it. In the heat we start at dawn, keep candles, electronics, and furniture finishes out of a baking trailer, and hydrate the crew so the pace stays steady. During monsoon season we shrink-wrap the soft goods early and time the heavy carries around an incoming haboob. And when the snowbirds arrive for the mild, dry winter, we run the busy season of Sun City and seasonal moves smoothly, planning a clean window and keeping a backup ready when blowing dust or floodwater is in the forecast.

Summer booking tip: for a closing or lease date from May to September, lock your slot two to three weeks out and ask for an early-morning start. Loading before the heat peaks past 110 is easier on your belongings and gets the crew finished before the worst of the afternoon, and it costs you nothing extra.

The Way We Run Your Move

  1. We walk the place with you, on-site or over video, count the rooms and the heavy pieces, and write you one low flat price with nothing tucked into the fine print.
  2. With the date set, we lock the crew size and handle truck access, any HOA or gate check-in, a building COI, and the elevator hold on condo and high-rise jobs.
  3. On move morning the crew pads and shrink-wraps the furniture, breaks down the standard beds and tables, and loads with the early start and heat protection your address calls for.
  4. We drive it ourselves, then set every piece where you point, rebuilding what came apart and landing the big items on the mark.
  5. We close out with a walk-through together, so you have cleared every room before the truck pulls away.

High-Rise, COI, and HOA Access

A fair share of Valley moves need paperwork handled before anyone lifts a box. The downtown Phoenix and Tempe high-rises typically expect proof of insurance on record and a freight elevator held for your slot, and we arrange both with management ahead of time. Out in Chandler, Gilbert, and Surprise, the master-planned HOA and gated communities often run rules on truck access, move-in hours, and a gate check-in, so we pin the details at booking. A single-story Phoenix ranch or a Mesa two-story brings its own access quirks, and we build the crew and schedule around them instead of getting blindsided on the day.

These guys were spectacular! I’ve never had an easier move. Everyone knows how stressful moving can be, but Low Cost Quality Movers takes it to the next level in putting your worries at ease. Not to mention how professional the crew was. They accidentally put a hole in one of my interior doors moving a couch, immediately they notified me. 2 days later I get a call from Brenda who takes care of the whole bit, 2 days after that I have a new door. Incredible service. Couldn’t recommend them enough for your next move!

Good questions to ask

The stuff people usually want cleared up first

How early should I lock in a local move?
Two to three weeks is a comfortable lead for most dates. Our busiest stretches are the summer-heat months when everyone wants an early-morning start and the mild winter snowbird season around Sun City, while month-end leasing across Phoenix and the Tempe towers ties up crews Valley-wide, so if your move falls in any of those windows, call as early as you can to claim a slot.
Will the truck need special access arranged?
In the master-planned communities around Chandler, Gilbert, and Surprise, often yes, since the HOA may want a gate check-in or have set move-in hours. Give us the address when you book and we check the community rules and line up the gate code, a loading zone, or a held spot so the truck sits tight to your door.
Where does Low Cost Quality Movers operate?
Throughout Phoenix and the entire Valley of the Sun. That takes in Mesa, Chandler, Glendale, Tempe, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Peoria, Surprise, Avondale, Goodyear, and Queen Creek, with our home base off 24th Street in Phoenix.
Who actually does the moving?
Our own full-time W-2 movers, hired and trained under Hector. We do not subcontract the job, hand it off to another company, or sell your details. The crew that loads your home is the same crew that carries it back in.
What if my date shifts, a dust storm included?
Dates move, and in the desert the monsoon sometimes makes that call. If a closing slips or a haboob or flash flood rolls in, call us and we will put you on the next workable day at no penalty. Holding a flexible backup date through monsoon season keeps it painless.
Do stairs or a long carry cost extra?
Any stairs and carry we catch at the walk-through are already inside your flat price, so a Mesa two-story or a long carry from a gated-community guest lot is covered before we start. The only thing that ever changes the number is something never mentioned up front, which is exactly why we size up the access first and never nickel-and-dime.
Can you manage a same-day or next-day move?
Often, when a crew has the opening. Smaller studio and one-bedroom jobs are the easiest to slot in on short notice. Call with your date and address and we will be straight with you about what we can pull off.
Is there a minimum on a local move?
Yes. Local jobs run a two-mover crew at $99 an hour with a short hour minimum that covers the rollout, padding the furniture, and a quick cross-Valley hop. We will lay out the exact minimum for your home when we quote it, with no hidden add-ons.
